Formulated by Sera in Germany, Granured Nature represents the premium tier of cichlid nutrition with its emphasis on natural ingredients and color enhancement without artificial additives. The Nature designation guarantees this formula is free from synthetic colorants and chemical preservatives. German quality manufacturing ensures precise nutritional consistency that professional cichlid keepers rely on for competition-quality fish.

Color Enhancement Formula

The sera granured nature carnivore formula is enriched with natural carotenoid pigments derived from krill, spirulina, and other marine ingredients. These natural color enhancers are metabolized by fish and deposited into skin cells, intensifying the red, orange, and yellow pigmentation that carnivorous cichlids display. The color enhancement develops progressively over weeks of regular feeding, producing deep, vivid coloration that looks completely natural.

Natural carotenoids produce superior color quality compared to synthetic alternatives. The range and depth of color achieved through natural ingredients is broader and more nuanced, creating the rich, complex coloration that distinguishes well-nourished fish from those fed basic diets. For cichlid enthusiasts who show their fish or simply appreciate peak coloration, the natural color enhancement in this formula delivers visible results.

High-Protein Carnivore Diet

The sera granured nature carnivore provides the protein-rich nutrition that carnivorous cichlids require for optimal health and growth. Carnivorous species like Haplochromis, Aulonocara, and many Central American cichlids have evolved to process high-protein diets and cannot thrive on the plant-heavy formulas designed for herbivorous species. The animal-protein-based recipe matches their natural dietary biology.

The protein sources in this formula include quality fish meal, krill, and other aquatic animal proteins that provide the amino acid profile carnivorous fish need. These biologically appropriate protein sources are more efficiently digested and utilized compared to plant proteins, resulting in better growth rates, stronger immune function, and less metabolic waste production per gram of food consumed.

Sinking Granule Design

The sera granured nature carnivore uses a sinking granule format that reaches the feeding zones preferred by most cichlid species. While some cichlids readily feed at the surface, many species naturally feed in mid-water or along the bottom substrate. The controlled sinking rate distributes food through the entire water column, giving all fish opportunity to feed regardless of their preferred position in the aquarium.

The granule size is optimized for medium to large cichlids to consume in a single bite. This prevents the food wastage that occurs when granules are too large and fish break them apart, scattering fragments that decompose in hard-to-reach areas. Efficient food consumption with minimal waste keeps water cleaner and reduces the maintenance burden on aquarium filtration systems.

Natural Ingredients Only

The Nature formula in sera granured nature carnivore means every ingredient serves a genuine nutritional purpose. No artificial colors are used to make the granules look attractive to the aquarist. No synthetic preservatives extend shelf life at the expense of fish health. The natural formulation is gentler on fish digestive systems and produces less metabolic stress compared to heavily processed foods with synthetic additives.

Natural ingredients also contribute to better water quality. Foods with artificial fillers and binding agents often produce more dissolved waste as fish excrete the non-nutritive components. The clean, natural formula in Granured Nature is efficiently metabolized, with more nutrition absorbed and less waste produced per feeding. Cleaner water means healthier fish and reduced maintenance requirements.

For African Cichlids

Many of the most popular African cichlid species are carnivorous or omnivorous with carnivorous tendencies, making sera granured nature carnivore an ideal dietary staple. Aulonocara peacock cichlids in particular respond dramatically to color-enhancing foods, developing the stunning blue, yellow, and orange coloration that makes them aquarium favorites. Haplochromis species also show significant color improvement with regular feeding.

The protein and mineral content supports the robust physical development that healthy African cichlids should display. Strong jaw development, broad body shape, and the prominent nuchal humps that male cichlids develop are all supported by adequate protein and mineral nutrition. A well-fed cichlid displays the full physical presence and impressive coloration that these species are celebrated for.

Central American Cichlids

Large Central and South American cichlids including oscars, jack dempseys, firemouths, and flowerhorns thrive on the high-protein carnivorous formula of sera granured nature carnivore. These powerful predatory species require substantial protein intake to maintain their impressive body mass, strong coloration, and active behavior. The sinking granules deliver concentrated nutrition that satisfies the appetites of these large, energetic fish.

The color-enhancing ingredients are particularly effective for species with red and orange coloration elements. Flowerhorn cichlids, red devil cichlids, and blood parrot cichlids all respond noticeably to consistent feeding with carotenoid-enriched foods. The improvement in color intensity and coverage can be dramatic, transforming ordinary-looking specimens into vibrantly colored display fish.

Feeding Guidelines

Feed sera granured nature carnivore two to three times daily in amounts that fish consume within two to three minutes. Carnivorous cichlids are enthusiastic feeders and will readily consume this palatable food. Avoid overfeeding despite their apparent appetite, as excess food wastes in the aquarium and excess calories lead to obesity and fatty liver disease in overfed cichlids.

Supplement the granule diet with occasional treats of frozen foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and krill for dietary variety. A varied diet provides the broadest nutritional coverage and maintains feeding enthusiasm. The granule base diet ensures consistent daily nutrition while supplemental foods add variety and enrichment to the feeding routine.
