XINYOU XY-360 Bio-Balls (生物球) are hollow lattice plastic spheres, each fitted with a sponge insert, for powerful biological filtration in aquariums and fish ponds. The open ball structure plus the internal sponge give a very large surface area where beneficial nitrifying bacteria colonise, breaking down toxic ammonia and nitrite while water flows freely through them. How It Works

As water passes over and through the balls, nitrifying bacteria living on the lattice and within the sponge core oxidise toxic ammonia into nitrite and then into far less harmful nitrate. Placed after mechanical media, the bio-balls carry the biological stage of filtration and keep the nitrogen cycle stable.

How to Use

Rinse the bio-balls, then place them in the biological stage of your filter (after mechanical media), loose or in a media bag. When cleaning, rinse gently in old tank water — never under hot or chlorinated tap water — to protect the bacterial colony.

Maintenance Notes

Clean only a portion at a time so the biological filter is never fully reset. Rinse occasionally to clear trapped debris and keep water flowing freely.
