The soft, dense white floss traps suspended dirt, debris and fine particles as water passes through, polishing the water and keeping the tank clear. Supplied as a single long 100 × 13 cm strip (1-piece pack) that is easily cut to fit hang-on-back filters, top filters, sumps and filter trays.

Key Features

Thickened filter cotton (棉料加实) — denser wool for more dirt-holding capacity and effective mechanical filtration.

Long strip, cut-to-size — a 100 cm length trims to fit many filters and trays.

Fine water polishing — captures suspended particles for noticeably clearer water.

Sturdy & durable (结实耐用) — reinforced fibre that holds together when rinsed.

White colour — shows trapped dirt clearly so you know when to clean or replace.

Freshwater aquariums — ideal as the first mechanical stage in tank filters.

Benefits

Clearer, polished water by removing fine suspended particles.

Protects downstream biological media and pumps from coarse waste.

Flexible and economical — one strip serves several filters.

Why Choose This Product

The thickened “super” wool offers more depth and dirt-holding capacity than thin pads, so it stays effective longer between cleanings, while the 100 cm strip cuts to fit a range of filters at low cost.

Ideal Use Cases

Freshwater aquariums, hang-on-back and top (trickle) filters, canister media trays, sump compartments, and DIY filter stacks needing a fine mechanical / water-polishing layer.

How It Works

Filter wool sits in the mechanical stage, where water is forced through the dense fibre. Suspended solids and waste are trapped in the floss while cleaner, polished water passes on to the biological and chemical media. Rinse or replace as it loads with debris to maintain flow.

Technical Specifications

Specification

Detail

Brand

XINYOU (信友)

Model

XY-1861

Product type

White super filter wool / filter cotton (过滤棉) — mechanical filtration media

Colour

White

Size (per strip)

100 × 13 × 1 cm (1-piece pack)

Material

Polyester filter wool / floss (thickened)

Application

Freshwater aquariums

Function

Mechanical filtration / water polishing

Shape

Long rectangular strip (cut-to-size)

Origin

Guangdong / Zhejiang, China

Manufacturer

XINYOU / Foshan Shunde Junyou Aquarium Product Factory

How to Use

Cut the wool to fit your filter tray or compartment and place it in the first (mechanical) stage so water flows through before reaching biological media.
